🎉 Celebrating Deepavali: Honoring Tamil Heritage Through Learning
Deepavali (also called ” Diwali”) is a major festival known as the “Festival of Lights,” celebrated by Hindus, Tamils, Jains, Sikhs, and others across South Asia and the world.
At the OWF Free Education Unit, we recognize Deepavali, a cultural festival celebrated by Tamil communities as a meaningful learning experience for our preschool students.
This is a respect for the diverse cultural traditions of Sri Lanka. Through storytelling, art, and joyful activities, our young learners explore the values of light, unity, and renewal that Deepavali represents.
